Frequently Asked Questions

I often get asked about the specific gear I use to capture the photos you see on the blog. While I believe that good lighting and composition are the most important tools, for those who are curious about the technical details, here is a list of the equipment I currently use for my work.

  • Camera: Canon EOS 5D Mark III

  • Lenses:

    • 50mm f/1.2L: My favorite for most overhead (flat lay) shots.

    • 85mm f/1.2L: Perfect for those beautiful, close-up shots with a creamy, blurry background.

    • 24-70mm f/2.8L: My versatile workhorse lens, especially for action shots and videos.

  • Editing Software: Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop

While I use my DSLR for most recipe shoots, don’t underestimate the power of your phone! I also frequently use my iPhone X for social media content. With amazing apps like VSCO Cam and Snapseed for editing, you can achieve incredible results with the camera that’s already in your pocket.

My advice for beginners? Start with a simple 50mm lens (often called a “nifty fifty”). It’s relatively affordable and is one of the best lenses for learning food photography!

Starting a food blog is a rewarding journey! While it seems complex, you can break it down into a few key steps. Here’s a quick guide to get you started:

  1. Find Your Niche: First, decide what makes your blog special. Will you focus on easy 30-minute meals, traditional Pakistani cuisine, baking, or healthy recipes? Your niche is your brand.

  2. Choose a Name & Get a Domain: Pick a catchy and memorable name for your blog and register the domain (e.g., https://www.google.com/search?q=yourblogname.com).

  3. Set Up Your Blog: The most popular platform for bloggers is WordPress. You’ll need to buy hosting (like from Hostinger) and install WordPress. This will be the foundation of your site.

  4. Learn Basic Food Photography: You don’t need a fancy camera! Your phone is a powerful tool. The most important “hack” is to always use good natural light (shoot near a window during the day).

  5. Create High-Quality Content: Don’t just post a recipe. Write a helpful article around it. Tell a story, share your tips, and explain why your recipe works. This is what we focus on at Viral Food Hacks.

  6. Learn Basic SEO: Understand the basics of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to help people find your recipes on Google. Focus on things like keywords, good titles, and clear headings.

  7. Be Consistent and Patient: Success doesn’t happen overnight. The most important thing is to be consistent with your posting and patient with the process. Keep learning and enjoy the journey!

That’s a great question, and the answer is no! I’m a passionate home cook, just like many of you.

I started Viral Food Hacks because I believe that you don’t need to go to a fancy culinary school to make incredible, restaurant-quality food. My expertise comes from countless hours of experimenting in my own kitchen, learning from my mistakes, and finding the simple “hacks” that make a big difference.

This blog is all about sharing those real-world discoveries with fellow food lovers!

Our Story

Hi! My name is J. ZaiB, and I’m the founder of Viral Food Hacks. Just like you, I’m a passionate home cook, not a professional chef. For years, I would get frustrated with recipes that looked beautiful online but were impossible to make at home. I knew there had to be an easier way to get that perfect crispy texture, those flaky pastry layers, or that incredibly juicy result.

This website is the result of that quest. I started Viral Food Hacks to share all the simple methods, tips, tricks, and “hacks” I discovered through countless hours of experimentation. This is a place where we crack the code on your favorite dishes together.
